There are over 1,000 acres owned by the ranch association, with amenities including a golf course, tennis courts, swimming pool, ball field, clubhouse and several tracts of open space for future recreational uses. The climate is semi-arid, with an annual precipitation of less than nine inches per year. We enjoy a high percentage of sunny days throughout the year. Refreshing different weather patterns of the four distinct seasons are common to the area.

    • Summer: Daytime temperatures average 80 to 90 degrees with cool nights.
    • Fall: The season change offers varying temperatures from warm summertime highs to temperatures dipping below freezing.
    • Winter: Temperatures usually range from the mid to upper 40's to lows in the teens, although the mercury occasionally drops below zero.
    • Spring: Temperatures range from the mid 60's in the daytime with mid 20's at night. The winter and spring seasons bring the majority of the annual precipitation with occasional light snowfall or showers.

    History

In 1910, when Redmond was a bustling community of 216, a Texas oil man by the names of Gates purchased the property from homesteaders, forming what was known for years as the "Gates Ranch". In 1961, the ranch was purchased by the Thomas Bell family. It was operated as the E-Z Cattle Co. in diversified ranching for ten years.
